However, the simple two-sloped roof is making a comeback.

This is usually done with shingles, and because it’s so simplistic, it’s a bit cheaper. 6: Hip Roofing

Hip roofing is what you’ll see on most modern houses. It’s complex, looks great, and doesn’t produce a lot of challenges. This type of roof consists of four slopes joining in a “hip” or trapezoid shape.

7: Mansard Roofing

The Mansard roofing style can give your home a more European look. After all, that’s where it’s proliferated for centuries.

This is a simple modification to the highly popular hip roofs you already see every day. Four slopes join together to make the roof. The difference is that the top is flat, and the slopes are usually steeper.

This can look great on more elegant homes, and the top is easier to access safely since it’s flat. However, the style isn’t popular over here. So, the rest of your home needs to match the look of this roof, or you’re going to stand out in a negative way.
